Shipton Mill GLUTEN-FREE Oat Flour
Shipton Mill GLUTEN-FREE Oat Flour, now available at Ratton Pantry and forming part of a larger selection of Shipton Mill's incredible artisan flours.
Oat Flour is is made by grinding oatmeal on stones and sifting out the fine material. It is also obtained as a by-product of groat cutting.
Try using Oat Flour with another short flour, for example, White Rice Flour - and a small amount of Gluten Free binder such as Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum to make an excellent base for tray bakes.
Oat flour is useful even for traditional baking. Try using it for kneading whole-wheat bread. It keeps the dough from sticking but, unlike regular flour, won't toughen the dough if you incorporate too much.
Consuming oats or products that are made from oats like organic oat flour can help you feel full for longer.
